This bike belonged to a friend of ours who sadly passed away last year, she had been sat in a dry barn for 11 years oxidising and flaking away slowly, based around a 1959 Norton Wideline featherbed frame with a 1956 pre unit Triumph 650 motor as the lump, originally in silver as can be seen from the pics.

We stripped down the tank oil tank and seat and started stripping them down for painting. Replaced the seat with a new one, polished up the mudguards which turned out to be John Tickle as did the yokes and clip ons which was a nice find. She didn’t run so stripped the engine, magneto was seized and was replaced with electronic ignition. The biggest surprise was finding a primary case full of grease instead of oil, something to do with a cracked cover methinks, all inners replaced and rebuilt and a new primary cover sourced (ouch£££) She started first kick and was a dream to listen to, not enough steering lock for me a bugger to manoeuvre when parking up.

She’s retired to Cambridgeshire now.
